After drawings of Maurice Jacques and Louis Tessier. The original tapestries of which the earliest sketches are recorded in 1758, were woven at the Royal Manufacture of gobelins from 1765. Faithful reflection of a gentle and refined time, this romantic scene is pictured in a medallion. this charming composition is set against a beige damask background, called Alentour and is gracefully adorned with flowery garlands.
