Woven in France
From a late 12th century fragment of one of the oldest tapestries of the Western World - Baldishol Church, Norway. The two pictures of the fragment represent two months of the year. This word APRIL is legible on the top left. This month is symbolized by a man holding a flower, next to a tree on which three birds are climbing. the month of MAY is the month of war, depicted by a horseman wearing a helmet, coat of chain-mail and carrying a spear and a shield.
